Here we are!!!

Here we are!!! The first blog post ever for Bezold Farms!

What a time to start something totally new and unknown, during these uncertain times. We’d like to think that it’s the right time, karma, no better time than now. Actually it has to do with deadlines. May 15 is the deadline to submit paperwork for Organic Certification.

So this first blog post is a new beginning, not only for Bezold Farms and our web presence but also for our no uncertain belief in “organic” and what it means to us and we hope what it means to you.

Bezolds Farms Market Garden will soon be certified organic. We’ve been following the principles for years but it was time, uncertainty or not, to move forward and make a tangible commitment, to step in it once and for all.

According to our certifier, Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association:

“Organic production and handling requires a “systems approach.”  It involves practices promoting soil, animal, and worker health.  This system protects water quality and the environment through integrated pest, weed, and disease management.  The organic system produces a wholesome product that has been verified by a qualified third-party. With few exceptions, a grower or handler must be certified organic to market products with organic claims.”

We are proud and so excited to be moving to a new level of commitment for Bezold Farms, our family, and your family! Please join us and remember, we are watching what we eat…
